Amy Weigle had 19 kills and hit .548 to lead at Texas State offensive charge that produced 78 kills and a .284 percentage, as the Bobcats ran over Texas-Arlington 3-1 (30-23, 30-22, 27-30, 30-24) Tuesday night in San Marcos.

Jessica Weynand and Kacey Wimpy led the Bobcat defense with 19 digs each, while Weigle had five blocks to lead Texas State up front.
Texas-Arlington (19-7, 8-2) suffered its first loss in the month of October, led by Torie Dacus' 16 kills and Ashley Smith's 23 digs. Dacus added 20 digs for a double-double in the match.
UTA rolled out to a 3-1 lead in game one but fell victim to a 4-0 Bobcat run that made the score 5-3, and Texas State further extended its lead to 8-5 when Weynand hammered a ball through the Maverick front line to put the `Cats on top by three.
Texas State got three-straight points mid-way through game one, capped when Weigle and Hickman combined for a block to put Texas State up 15-8, and Kelly Fletcher put Texas State on top 24-15 as part of a 3-0 run that saw the Bobcat lead jump to nine.
Weigle and Weynand gave Texas State kills late to make the score 28-19, and the `Cats finished the game on a Brown kill after UTA stayed alive with back-to-back scores to reach 23.
The Mavs again controlled the first four serves in game two, going up 3-1, followed by consecutive Bobcat points that tied the game at 3-3. Texas State used a mid-game 6-0 spurt to go up 18-14 after trailing by two, and the `Cats used another run, this time 3-0, to go up 25-19 after UTA had cut the lead to four.
Weigle notched a kill to put Texas State on top 27-21, and after UTA answered with a point to make the score 27-22, the Mavs made three game-closing errors to hand Texas State the win, 30-22.
Game three stayed close from first serve to game point, and after Karry Griffin knotted the score at 27-all late in the contest, the Mavericks pulled off three-straight to close the match-gap to 2-1.
Texas State would answer in game four, however, using an early 3-0 run to go up 12-7 and extending the lead with another 4-1 clip that ended with a Weigle solo block to put Texas State on top 16-11.
The Bobcats put the game away later, using an 8-2 run to go up by 10 (24-14), and the `Cats cruised to the finish line despite being outscored 10-6 over the final 16 serves, earning game point on a Brown kill to go up 30-24.
The win snapped a two-match skid for the `Cats, who held on to fourth place in the SLC West and closed the gap to only two matches on second-place UTA. The `Cats also climbed to within a game of Texas-San Antonio, who did not play on Tuesday night.
Texas State continues its home stand Friday and Saturday, taking on Nicholls State and Southeastern Louisiana at Strahan Coliseum. Friday's first serve is set for 7 p.m.
