The Texas State women's soccer team fell 1-0 at McNeese State on Thursday in a rain-soaked overtime contest on a Ja'Nae Powell goal in the 92nd minute.
Powell's only shot on goal in the game beat Texas State goalkeeper Samantha Fraser. For the match the Bobcats actually out shot McNeese State 13-7, but the Cowgirls' Labrie Pritzen made seven saves.
The loss brings the Bobcats (4-11-2, 2-2-2) back to an even record in the SLC standings and drops them to the sixth spot in the conference postseason seedings with two regular season games left.
The Cowgirls move into fifth place in the Southland with the win. McNeese State (7-5-1, 3-3) secured its highest win total since 2000 with the victory as well.
Texas State will now look to secure a spot in the postseason conference tournament on Sunday, Oct. 22, against Northwestern State at 1 p.m. Sunday will also mark the final regular season home game of 2006 for the Bobcats, and the nine seniors on this year's squad will be honored afterward.
The Bobcats will also host the Southland Conference Tournament in San Marcos, which will run Nov. 2-5.
