Box Score
NORMAN, Okla. -
Playing Oklahoma (8-1-0 overall) for the first time in program history, the Bobcats fell to the Sooners 3-0 on Friday evening. With the finale of pre-conference play, Texas State (3-7-0 overall) now looks to defend last year's Southland Conference title.
The Bobcats made only three shots on the night, each coming from sophomore Natalie Jackson in the first half. All offensive production halted in the second half when the Bobcats failed to take any shots.
Goalkeeper Paige Perriraz, in her third consecutive start, made ten saves in the effort. Over the last three games, she has allowed four goals while making 20 saves (1.67 GAA). She has been in goal since Brittany Beltramini went out nearly two weeks ago with a sprained ankle.
Texas State entered the game after winning three straight, including two wins at last weekend's SFA 2005 LadyJack Soccer Classic.
Oklahoma's Savannah Scott scored an unassisted goal, her third of the season, in the first half as the Sooners made 13 shots. Scott added her second goal of the evening late in the second half. Allyson Kucera and Lauren Harris assisted on the goal. With just under five minutes to play, Michelle Enos shot her third goal of the season with help from Kristin Vesely.
The Sooners tie a program record for consecutive wins (six) and look to break the record set by 2002's squad on Sunday when it opens Big 12 play hosting No. 21 Texas.
Stephen F. Austin will be Texas State's first SLC opponent of 2005. The LadyJacks play host to the Bobcats next Friday, September 30 at 7 p.m.
