Cassidy Dresch went 3-for-4 and drove in three runs as Texas State run-ruled Texas-Arlington 13-1 in seven innings Sunday.
The win allowed the Bobcats to avoid a Southland Conference sweep on the road as they improved to 21-15 and 6-6 in league play. Texas-Arlington is now 19-17 and 9-3.
Texas State scored all of its runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings, including a nine-run sixth. At one point in the sixth inning, the `Cats drew three consecutive bases-loaded walks.
In addition to Dresch's performance at the plate, Dominic Ramos went 2-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored while Elliot Babcock was 2-for-4 with three RBI and a run scored.
Senior pitcher Bobby Sawicki tossed a three-hit complete game, striking out four to improve to 3-2 on the year.
Texas State returns to action Wednesday when it plays host to Texas Southern at Bobcat Field. First pitch is slated for 6:30 p.m.
