SAN MARCOS -Katie Ann Trahan allowed just one hit and struck out 11 batters in leading the Texas State Bobcats to a 1-0 victory over Western Michigan Thursday.

Leslie Sharp doubled for the first time this season in the bottom of the second inning, driving in Ashley Wilson for the only run the Bobcats would need.

At the plate, Texas State sophomore outfielder Amy Krueger went 3-for-3 on the day

Trahan improved to 6-10 on the year while Western Michigan starter Kyla Sullivan fell to 0-2.

The Bobcats, 6-14, will take on Southeastern Louisiana at 1 p.m. Saturday to begin Southland Conference competition for both teams. Saturday's action will be a double-header followed on Sunday by a single game starting at noon.
