DENTON - North Texas swept all three doubles matches as well as four singles matches to post a 5-2 win over Texas State Friday at Goldfield Tennis Center.

The matched marked North Texas' season opener while Texas State fell to 0-2 on the year. The Bobcats wrap up a three-match road swing to the Metroplex Saturday at TCU.

Against North Texas, the Bobcats got wins at both No. 1 and No. 2 singles. Leja Sirola posted a 2-6, 7-6(5), 6-4 win over Krysta Lee at No. 1 while Melanie Hall defeated Ashley Sammis in straight sets, 7-5, 7-5.

Playing at No. 4 singles, Tina Klemenc took North Texas' Megan Schmulbach to three sets, losing 7-6, 4-6, 10-5.

Including the doubles point, North Texas jumped out to a 4-0 advantage to clinch the match with three flights still to play.
