ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Texas State bounced back from Friday's ugly loss, beating New Mexico 10-6 in game two of the three game series Saturday at Isotopes Park in Albuquerque, N.M.

For the second game in a row, the Bobcats attacked Lobo pitching early when Elliot Babcock scored on a Kyle Anson RBI single to center in the top of the first inning. The Bobcats would add to the lead in the second, plating four runs, highlighted by Kyle Jones' one-out home run to left off of New Mexico's Karsten Gaardner.

The Bobcats would add another run in the fourth, two in the sixth and two more in the ninth to hand New Mexico its fifth loss of the season.

New Mexico made it interesting in the bottom of the ninth by loading the bases twice. Bobcat catcher Dawid Bednarek allowed a passed ball, but recovered quickly and threw New Mexico's A.J. Spitaleri out at the plate. Scott Moore would finish the job, striking out Daniel Stovall and Jordan Pacheo to grab the save. The loss snaps a four-game winning streak for the Lobos.

Dominic Ramos drove in three runs and went two-for-five, including his first double of the season. Elliot Babcock was also active at the plate, going three-for-six and driving home two. The Bobcats got two more runs batted in from Jones on his first home run of the season. Anson and Luke Cannon each had one RBI in the contest.

Chris Carlson and Chad Itokazu were each two-for-three with an RBI, and Matt Foote went two-for-four with a run scored for New Mexico.

Jarod Garza got the win for the Bobcats, with five solid middle-relief innings. Garza gave up six hits and one earned run in his first decision of the season for Texas State. Picking up the loss for New Mexico was Gaardner, dropping his record to 1-2 on the season. The save for Moore was his first in 2005.

The Bobcats and Lobos will conclude the series Sunday, with the rubber match set to begin at 1 p.m. Central Standard Time. Sunday's finale will feature Texas State's Ryan Bennett (2-0, 1.64 ERA) against Darren Coltrinari (1-1, 16.43 ERA) for the Lobos.
