Texas State Drops 5-2 Decision to Wichita State

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Wichita State third baseman Ashley Lynn hit a grand slam in the top of the fifth inning as the Shockers came from behind to beat Texas State 5-2 Sunday at the Louisville Slugger UNLV Desert Classic.

With the loss, Texas State fell to 3-4 heading into Tuesday's game against North Texas at Bobcat Field.

Against Wichita State, the Bobcats jumped out to a 2-0 lead after two innings.

In the first, Amy Hromadka led off with a single to left field. She advanced to second on a base hit by Kristen Gunter and moved to third when Rachael Bonetti drew a walk to load the bases. Hromadka would later score on a wild pitch.

The `Cats added a run in the second on a lead-off homer by Holly Britain.

But the Shockers would get a run back in the third before Lynn's two-out grand slam in the fifth.
