Texas State Wraps Up Challenging Road Stand

HOUSTON - Due to inclement weather, Texas State's match with the University of Houston was played indoors Sunday with the Cougars going 6-0 in singles play.

The match ended a two-week start to the season in which the Bobcats went 0-5 while playing three nationally-ranked opponents. Texas State opens at home Thursday when it plays host to St. Edward's at 3 p.m.

Sunday against Houston, Jana Cuccieniello played at No. 1 singles dropping a 6-1, 6-1 decision to Biljana Dimovska. Cuccieniello opened the season playing at No. 3 singles and has also played at No. 2 singles for the Bobcats.

Playing at No. 2 singles Sunday, Melanie Hall took Houston's Diana Martin to three sets, winning the first set 7-5 before losing the second and third sets, 6-2, 6-0.

This week's match against St. Edward's begins a six-match home stand for Texas State.
