HOUSTON - Texas State's Sarah Baker increased her own school record in the weight throw to 16.24 meters (53-feet, 03.50 inches) to win the event at the UH/RunSport All-Comers Meet Saturday. Baker's throw is the second best mark in the Southland Conference this season as several Bobcats went through one final event prior to the league's indoor championships this Friday and Saturday.

Baker's throw won the event by over four feet.

Also at Houston, Texas State's battle between men's weight throwers continued as Joe Hastings reclaimed the school record with a throw of 16.13 meters (52-feet, 11 inches) from teammate Scott Wilson.

Hastings placed second in the event Saturday while Wilson finished fourth overall with a throw of 15.37 meters (50-feet, 05.25 meters).

Heading into the SLC championships Hastings and Wilson have the fourth and fifth-best throws in the SLC.
