SAN MARCOS - The public is invited to a pep rally Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall supporting the Texas State University Bobcat football team as it prepares for the NCAA Division I-AA semifinal game Friday against Northern Iowa.

The rally--featuring Boko, the Bobcat Mascot, and Texas State cheerleaders--will be held on the lawn of City Hall at the Bobcat Fever banner--or in case of inclement weather, inside in the City Council Chambers. City Hall is located at 630 E. Hopkins Street.

Mayor Susan Narvaiz will present a proclamation in support of the Bobcats and encourages the public to support the team--which is only two games away from a national championship.

Friday's game starts at 7 p.m. at Bobcat Stadium. For the second week in a row, the game has sold out. In post season play, the Cats have defeated Georgia Southern, 50-35; and Cal Poly, 14-7.
