SAN MARCOS, Texas - Texas State Soccer team lost its fourth straight game Friday. "It was a frustrating game, because we played well, we could just never catch a break," said head coach Kat Conner.
The Bobcats allowed the first Owl goal seven minutes into the game. Sarah Yoder picked-up a pass from Maria Fadool and pitched it over Bobcat goalkeeper Brittany Beltramini's shoulder.
Jackie Rellas scored the second goal for the Owls as well as her second for the season, thirty minutes into the first period. Making the score at the half 2-0.
Texas State started the second period with three shots and two corner kicks, but was unable to find the back of the net.
The only goal during the second period came when Clory Martin beat Beltramini and dribbled the ball into the net for the easy point, giving the Owls the 3-0 victory, over the Bobcats.
Coach Conner said, "Rice's goalkeeper was phenomenal, she saved a lot of shots, especially from our forward Danielle Holloway." "It is a game of inches, we are a young team." "I told the team after the game, don't give up it will come."
Texas State Bobcats will be in action at home again on Sunday at 1 p.m. against the Tulane Greenwave.
