COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado - Bobcat soccer fell 3-2 to Colorado College (3-3) Saturday. The 'Cats had a tough first period but fought back in the second to bring the game within one.
"We just ran out of time," said head coach Kat Conner. "We made some adjustments at half time and it took a little while for it to click"
Colorado College got on the board first, eight and a half minutes into the game. Senior Christie Ginanni scored the goal with an assist from Ashley Hooverson.
Hooverson than came back and scored the second goal of the game at the 38:54 mark on the clock. Giving the Tigers the 2-0 lead going into the second half.
Colorado's Ginanni notched her second goal of the game, and her teams third with twenty-five minutes left to play.
Kayla Thornton, a true freshman from New Braunfels, Texas scored the Bobcats first goal of the game unassisted with seven minutes left to play.
Coach Conner said, "Our Cats fought hard all the way to the end, they never gave-up."
With three seconds left in the game Danielle Holloway from Albuquerque, New Mexico found the back of the net off a pass from Megan Miles for the Bobcats second and final goal of the game.
Texas State will be staying in Colorado Springs to take on Xavier University at noon on Sunday. The 'Cat will then be returning home to play host to Rice University on September 17 at 7 p.m.
