Broussard Signs With Texas State

May 10, 2004

SAN MARCOS - Terrell Broussard, a 6-7 forward, has signed a national letter of intent to play for Texas State, head coach Dennis Nutt announced today.

"We are extremely pleased to add Terrell to our roster for next season," Nutt said. "Terrell will bring us some much needed athleticism and depth to our front court. He brings a different element of the game that we did not have last year and will compete immediately for playing time."

Broussard averaged 12 points and 8.1 rebounds a game for Coach Mark Osina at Weatherford College. He also had 2.2 blocks per game as he earned First-Team All-North Texas Conference honors.

"Terrell is an unbelievably athletic player," Osina said. "He measures 6-7, but plays at 7-0. He is a very productive player who will fit in nicely at Texas State. He is a great kid with great potential!"

The native of Irving, Texas, played at Paris Junior College as a freshman, averaging 10 points and 5.4 rebounds a game. Additionally, Broussard played for Coach G.W. Melton at Irving Nimitz High.

Broussard signed with Texas State after also being recruited by Louisiana-Monroe and Birmingham Southern.

Texas State opened the 2004 NCAA spring National Letter of Intent period with the signing of guard Andre Oupoh (6-3, 225) from Frank Phillips Junior College in Borger, Texas.

The Bobcats signed two high school seniors, Roderick Adams and Matt Canady, during the early signing period in November.
