COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Texas State soccer team (13-10-0) season is over after falling 10-0 to the Texas A&M Aggies (18-5-0), in the first round of the NCAA Women's Cup.

"Texas A&M played with speed our team had never seen before in competition," said head coach Kat Conner. "The game did give our young team the opportunity to see that speed and that level of play."

The Aggies scored their first four goals during the first 11 minutes of the match. "Their speed and their ability to get the ball through the mid-field was very good, so we had to make some corrections. Unfortunately, they were about four goals in before we could make that correction."

From there the `Cats only allowed two more goals for the rest of the period. Making the score at the half 6-0. In the second half of play, the Bobcats held the Aggies to four goals, with goalkeeper Brittany Beltramini notching five saves.

"We said we had nothing to lose, we played how we wanted to play against A&M," Conner said. "We ran after them with our three forwards like we normally do."

With Texas State losing its four seniors, Kendra Comfort, Kendra Kade, Jaynee Sherman, and Audrey VanDeWalle, the 'Cats will feel a huge loss, but should be in good shape for next season with at least 21 returning players.
