SAN MARCOS, Texas (AP) - Barrick Nealy threw four touchdown passes and ran
for another score to lead Texas State past Nicholls State 35-12 Saturday.
Texas State (5-5, 3-1 Southland) took a 28-0 lead on Nealy's third touchdown
pass, a 60-yarder to Douglas Sherman with 38 seconds left in the first half.
Nealy finished 10-of-13 for 186 yards. He also rushed 14 times for 97 yards.
Joseph Robbins scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns for Nicholls State (5-4,
2-2).
The Bobcats drove 75 yards on their opening possession, which was capped by
Nealy's 33-yard touchdown pass to K.R. Carpenter. Then Nealy connected with
Randal Moshier on a 6-yard scoring toss and added a 39-yard touchdown run in
the second quarter for a 21-0 lead.
Nealy's final score, a 7-yard pass to Tyrone Scott, put Texas State up 35-0
about two minutes into the second half.
Robbins rushed for 61 yards and had scoring runs of 1 and 3 yards.
Carpenter had three receptions for 82 yards.
