Bobcats Sweep SEMO 4-0 at Home

SAN MARCOS, Texas– Texas State women's tennis defeated Southeast Missouri State 4-0 Sunday afternoon at the Bobcat Tennis Complex.

The Bobcats secured the doubles point before clinching the team victory with three straight singles wins while battling through several rain delays during the match.

With the win, Texas State improved to 7-4 overall, including a 4-0 mark at the Bobcat Tennis Complex and a 3-2 record on the road.

Doubles
Texas State opened the match by securing the doubles point with wins on courts one and two. 

Olivia Collins and Ireland Simme set the tone with a dominant 6-1 victory over Saskia Soome and Sofia Zemtsova at No. 1 doubles. 

Stoney Cooks and Charlotte Roesch followed with a 6-4 win over Maja Bajorek and Mia Mayerova on court two to clinch the point for the Bobcats.

Singles
The Bobcats continued their momentum in singles play, winning three courts to secure the match.

Tadiwa Mauchi tallied the first singles point for Texas State with a commanding 6-2, 6-0 victory over Sofia Zemtsova on court three.

Emily Niers delivered a strong performance on court one, defeating Juliette Demunck in straight sets, 6-4, 6-1. 

Texas State clinched the match on court four as Stoney Cooks battled to a three-set victory over Kristina Kozakova, 6-2, 3-6, 6-1, sealing the 4-0 win for the Bobcats.

Three singles matches went unfinished following the clinch.

Texas State will return to action Monday at 10 a.m. to host Lamar at the Bobcat Tennis Complex.
