Bobcats Roll Past UT Arlington 4-0 to Stay Perfect at Home

SAN MARCOS, Texas— Texas State women's tennis defeated UT Arlington 4-0 Saturday afternoon at the Bobcat Tennis Complex.

The victory improved Texas State to 8-4 overall as the Bobcats prepare to begin Sun Belt Conference play next week. Texas State remains undefeated at home this season with a 5-0 record.

The Bobcats set the tone early by securing the doubles point with wins on courts one and two. Texas State carried that momentum into singles play, winning three straight courts to clinch the 4-0 victory.

Doubles
Ireland Simme and Olivia Collins opened the match with a 6-2 victory over Vanja Cado and Diana Kaibara on court one. The duo improved to 7-2 this season when playing together at No. 1 doubles.

Stoney Cooks and Charlotte Roesch secured the doubles point with a 6-2 win over Elizave Mladentseva and Sofia Selle on court two. Cooks and Roesch remain unbeaten at 6-0 on court two this season.

Tadiwa Mauchi and Chantajah Mills were locked in a tight match on court three against Tasnime Ahamout and Natalia Gonzalez, trailing 5-4 when play was halted after the doubles point was clinched.

Singles
Simme continued her strong play on court two, defeating Mladentseva in dominant fashion 6-0, 6-1. The victory improved Simme to 8-2 in singles this season and marked her sixth consecutive win.

Freshman Anastasia Radovanovic extended the Bobcats' lead to 3-0 with a straight-set victory over Ahamout on court six, winning 6-1, 6-3. Radovanovic improved to 3-0 in singles play this season.

Mauchi clinched the match for Texas State on court three with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Cado to secure the 4-0 team victory.

Texas State opens Sun Belt Conference play next week with road matches against Troy and Georgia State.
