SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State women's golf head coach
Lisa Strom announced Tuesday that transfer Alejandra Lobelo has been added to the 2019-20 recruiting class.
"Coach Gleason and I are thrilled to add Alejandra to our Bobcat family," Coach Strom said. "We felt an instant connection and believe we can help develop her into an even better player. She has proven herself in college golf already and is exactly what we needed to add competitive depth to our lineup. We expect her to have a big impact on our team and cannot wait to have her in San Marcos!"
Alejandra Lobelo
Bogota, Colombia / Boise State University
Lobelo joins the Bobcats after spending the first two years of her collegiate career at Boise State University. She will have two years of eligibility remaining at Texas State. She appeared in 19 tournaments during her two-year stint as a Bronco with 11 top-25 performances and four top-10 efforts.
She carded three top-10 finishes during her second season with the Broncos. Her first top-10 effort came with a tied for 10th finish at the Ptarmigan Ram Classic after she shot 219 (3-over). Lobelo followed that tournament with a second-straight top-10 performance at the Rose City Collegiate with a final score of 223 (7-over) to finish in a tie for sixth. Her final top-10 outing of the season came at the BYU at Entrada Classic. She fired a 216 (10-over) to tie for third place.
During her freshman season, Lobelo carded the lowest Boise State score in the 2018 Mountain West Conference Championship with a final tally of 222 (6-over). Her 54-hole score marked the lowest conference tournament final score for a Bronco since the program joined the league in 2012. She placed tied for 13th at the event, which tabbed the highest finish by a Bronco freshman since 2013.
