Thomas Kenney was a two-year letterwinner for the Bobcats men's golf team from 1990-92. Kenney was a member of the 1992 Southland Conference Championship team. He also won numerous individual collegiate golf tournaments and helped lead his team to several collegiate team victories.
Kenney was selected as an NCAA All-American in his senior year while leading the Bobcats to the NCAA Central Regional Tournament. Along the way, he was named an All-Southland Conference First Team selection  and finished as the individual runner up at the SLC Championship. He dominated during both the fall and spring seasons, winning the UTSA Golf Classic, the McNeese State Moe O'Brien Invitational and the Abilene Christian Charles Coody Intercollegiate. He also placed second at the SFA Crown Colony Invitational and the Arkansas State Invitational, while finishing third at the UT Pan-American International Intercollegiate in Monterey, Mexico. Kenney ended the year with a 73.3 scoring average, the lowest average on his team and the lowest average in the entire Southland Conference. He finished top 10 in 11 out of 13 tournaments he participated in his senior year. 

Kenney immediately turned heads during his inaugural season for the Bobcats. He finished in first place at the Mardi Gras Invitational hosted by Southeastern Louisiana University. He also finished third at the SFA Crown Colony Invitational and the University of Houston All-American Invitational. Kenney finished the year placing seventh at the SLC Championship. He ended the season leading the Bobcats with a scoring average of 74.8. Prior to attending Texas State, Kenney was an all-conference selection and National Junior College Athletic Association regional champion for San Jacinto Junior College.

Kenney graduated from Texas State with a Bachelor of Business Administration in marketing. He went on to begin a professional business career in investment real estate. He began his career at Statewide Capital Investments and quickly rose through the ranks of the company. He served as a financial analyst, Vice President and Executive Vice-President from 1994-01. In 2001, he was promoted to President and Chief Operating Officer.

In 2005, Kenney formed ISB Capital, LLC, which has grown to become one of the largest private capital finance companies specializing in investment real estate in Texas. He is now a partner in several companies and has several offices throughout the United States.

Kenney is a current board member for the Clear Creek Independent School District Education Foundation and has served as a board member for the Bayside Area Little League. He is an active contributor to numerous charities and has generously donated to Bobcat Athletics and the men's golf team, assisting with the completion of the Jim and Carol West Golf Practice Facility.
