Kyle Harrell was a four-year letter winner for the Texas State Football program from 1994-1997. As a guard on the offensive line, Harrell started in 34 consecutive games and was a three-time Southland Conference All-Academic awardee and an All-Southland Conference Honorable Mention Recipient in 1997.
While Harrell was a student-athlete, he was on the Athletic Advisory Council from 1995-1997. As a council member, Harrell worked in conjunction with Athletic Administration to guide policy, procedures and initiatives for all Bobcat student-athletes. He was also awarded all four years of his career as a student-athlete the Oak Farm Dairy Academic Achievement Award, given to student-athletes who earn a GPA of 3.0 or higher throughout the year.
Harrell played one year of semi-pro football for the Long Island Seahawks of the Regional American Football League.
Harrell graduated from Texas State in 1998 with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sports Science. Immediately following graduation, Harrell became a member of the “T” Association Board of Directors. The “T” Association Board helps drive initiatives and policy and procedures for Texas State’s Athletic Alumni Organization. He has been a part of the “T” Association for 23 years, serving in numerous roles, including President and Vice-President. He has also volunteered countless hours for the organization coordinating operations for events.
Early in his career Harrell spent several years coaching football and teaching high school in Conroe ISD and Katy ISD, returning to his alma mater in 2002 to work as Assistant Football Coach and later as Head Football, Baseball and Women’s Basketball Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Bobcats.
In 2003, Harrell transitioned from coaching to long career in sales. In 2007, he co-founded, and is currently the VP of Business Development for Pathagility. Pathagility is a software company that facilitates the generation, management and reporting of clinical data in medical labs across the country.
Harrell is extremely active in his community. He is currently the head football coach at Living Rock Academy in Bulverde and coached at Great Hearts Monte Vista for the previous six seasons. Harrell is on the board of the Texas State chapter of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, is an active volunteer at First Chinese Baptist Church and travels all over the United States as a volunteer for a ministry helping victims of abuse, exposing and bringing abusers to justice.
Harrell is a long-time season ticket holder for Texas State Football and Baseball and a donor to the T-Association and Bobcat Club.
Kyle Harrell, his wife Elissa and three kids, Hope, Lily and Fuller reside in Hollywood Park, Texas near San Antonio. Their daughter Hope is a recent Texas State graduate.
