Jeff Frnka played basketball for the Bobcats from 1975-77, earning three letters as a student-athlete for coach Vernon McDonald. As a junior, the 6-foot guard averaged 8.6 points per game off the bench and was tabbed “super sub” by local sportswriters. Frnka was elected team captain as a senior and his 10.4 points per game helped earn him first team all-conference honors. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from Texas State University in 1977.
