Bradley George was a four-year letterwinner for Texas State football from 2006 to 2009. The quarterback was instrumental in the Bobcats winning the Southland Conference championship in 2008 and leading the team to an 8-5 record. The four-time team captain also led Texas State to back-to-back top-25 finishes in the final NCAA Division I FCS Sports Network Poll in 2008 and 2009.
In 2006, the redshirt freshman was named to the All-Southland Conference Second Team after finishing the season with 1,674 passing yards and 11 touchdowns. He ranked second in the conference in both passing offense and total offense and third in the league in passing efficiency.
George’s sophomore season saw him start in 11 games where he completed 190 of 334 passes for 2,099 yards and 16 touchdowns. His 16 touchdown passes tied for second in the conference that season while he was third in passing yards per game with an average of 190.8 yards.
During the 2008 season, George earned All-Southland Conference Honorable Mention and Southland Conference All-Academic Team Honors after becoming the first Texas State quarterback to throw for more than 2,000 yards in two consecutive seasons. He ranked among the nation’s top six quarterbacks in passing efficiency after completing 181 of his 301 passes for 2,660 yards and a school-record 26 touchdowns. The conference champion Bobcats reached the FCS Playoffs that season as well.
In 2009, George passed for 3,121 yards while completing 63 percent of his passes and was named the Southland Conference Offensive Player of the Year and Team MVP. He ranked second in the conference with 283 passing yards per game and seventh nationally in total offense.
Over his career, George earned multiple All-Southland and Southland Conference Player of the Week awards. Upon graduation, he was second in all-time passing yards and touchdown passes in the Southland Conference.
As of 2021, George continues to hold the top spot in the Texas State record book in career passing yards (9,556), total yards (9,786), touchdown passes (76) and most touchdowns responsible for (79). Additionally, he holds single-season records in touchdown passes (26), pass completions (258), and the highest total offense average per game (286.1).
George was named the 2009 Capital One Bank/Southland Conference Football Student-Athlete of the Year, given to the student-athlete who achieves excellence in both academics and athletics. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in construction technology in 2008 and a Master of Applied Geography in Land Development and Management in 2010. George was the recipient of the Dairy Oaks Farm Academic Award and the Texas State Dean’s List multiple times.
Following Texas State, after invitations to pre-season camps with the Baltimore Ravens and Seattle Seahawks, George began working for Gulf Interstate Engineering/Field Services and currently works as a construction manager for Williams Gas Pipeline where he earned a Champions Award for outstanding work for a project in Alabama.
George continues to be a supportive and active alumnus to the Bobcats. He is a football season ticket holder, donor and an active “T” Association member. He also hosts an alumni tailgate at least once a year.
