FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.— Texas State track and field wrapped up the 2026 indoor season Saturday evening at the NCAA Indoor Championships with two competitors in the men's high jump.

Senior Aiden Hayes and freshman Tshephang Dankuru represented the Bobcats at the national meet.

Dankuru led the way with a sixth-place finish after clearing 2.18 meters (7 feet, 1.75 inches), earning three team points for Texas State and a podium finish.

The three points also placed Texas State 42nd in the final team scores with Dankuru accounting for all of the Bobcats' scoring and finishing ahead of several power four conference programs.

Hayes finished 12th after clearing 2.15 meters (7 feet, 0.5 inches). The appearance marked Hayes' second consecutive trip to the NCAA Indoor Championships after also qualifying last season, where he finished 12th.

Dankuru's sixth-place finish made program history, becoming just the second Bobcat to score points in the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships.

The last Texas State athlete to score at the NCAA Indoor Championships was Charles Austin, who placed third in the men's high jump in 1990.

With his finish, Dankuru earned First Team All-America honors, highlighting a standout freshman indoor season.

Dankuru concluded his freshman indoor campaign with the following honors:

• NCAA Indoor Track & Field First Team All-American
• All-Sun Belt Conference First Team (Indoor)
• Sun Belt Indoor High Jump Champion
• Sun Belt Indoor Championship Meet Record (2.22m)

Texas State will open the 2026 outdoor season March 20–21 at the UTSA Invitational in San Antonio, Texas.
